Nepal is a country that offers unparalleled adventure options with abundance in flora and fauna. The rich tapestry of the cultural heritage of Nepal is synthesized in the Kathmandu valley. Kathmandu is a constant source of attraction because of its location and its wealth of important Hindu and Buddhist shrines.

This program includes the historic city of Kathmandu and beautiful hill station Nagarkot. In Kathmandu we explore the Swayambhunath Temple, Pashupatinath, Durbar Squares and the bustling Ason market. A mere 90 minutes’ drive takes us to Changunarayan, as we trek up a well- trodden path, the city roar dies away and the tranquility of Nagarkot sets in.

Day 1: Arrive in Kathmandu

Upon arrival, you will be met by our airport representative and transferred to the hotel. Evening is at leisure.

Day 2: In Kathmandu

After breakfast at the hotel, explore Kathmandu City, Swayambhunath Stupa and Patan City.

Kathmandu, the largest city of Nepal is the political as well as the cultural capital of the country. Like any big city, Kathmandu has rapidly expanded over the last decade but despite the hustle and bustle of the city, its people have remained as friendly as ever.

Also visit Swayambhunath Stupa, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This ancient stupa is the most sacred Buddhist shrine of Nepal.

Later transfer to Patan, the city of architectural interior.
Patan also known as Lalitpur is the city of artisans and a paradise of fine arts. It is home to Kathmandu Valley’s finest craftsmen who have preserved such ancient techniques and lost wax process used to produce exquisite sculptures.

Day 3: Drive to Changunarayan, hike to Nagarkot

Distance: 22 kms/ 13.67 miles
Driving Time: 1.5 hours approx. (If traffic allows)
Hike Duration: 3 – 4 hours approx.

After an early breakfast, drive to Changunarayan Temple in Bhaktapur.

A UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Changunarayan temple is universally acknowledged as the most imposing example of Pagoda style in Nepal. Surrounded by forest of champak trees in a small village of Changu, this is the oldest temple in Kathmandu valley and its existence dates back to the 4th century.

After visiting the temple of Changunarayan, hike to Nagarkot.

The trail will take you through various Tamang villages and rhododendron forests. The beautiful hill station offers a panoramic view of the Himalayan range.

Day 4: In Nagarkot, Drive to Kathmandu

Distance: 25 kms/ 15.53 miles
Driving Time: 45 minutes approx. (If traffic allows)

Watch the beautiful sunrise from Nagarkot which is one of the best places to do so. Witness the first ray of the sun transforming the color of mountain ranges from saffron to gleaming white.
After breakfast, take a short hike to the tower which gives a beautiful view of the Kathmandu city.

After lunch, drive back to Kathmandu and rest of the day is at leisure.

Day 5: Final Departure

Today you will be transferred to the airport for your onward journey.
